About Sasaab
Sasaab is a luxury tented safari lodge in Westgate Conservancy, blending Moroccan-inspired design with private plunge pools, endless views and world-class guiding.
Perched above the Ewaso Nyiro River, Sasaab is a luxury eco-lodge seamlessly blending Swahili and Moroccan architectural influences, designed to harmonize with the Kenyan heat. Each of its spacious, canvas-sided rooms features private plunge pools and expansive views across the Laikipia Plateau towards Mount Kenya. Strategically positioned, the lodge offers frequent sightings of elephants bathing below, alongside a diverse array of other wildlife.
Located just outside Samburu National Reserve in Kenya's Northern Frontier District, Sasaab provides access to a landscape rich in mountains, wildlife, and cultural heritage. The area is renowned for its abundant animal populations, including the 'Samburu Special Five'—the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk antelope, and Somali ostrich—species unique to this region, alongside cheetahs and wild dogs.
Sasaab offers an array of activities, from traditional game drives within the Westgate Conservancy and Samburu National Reserve to walking safaris, camel trekking, and quad biking. Guests can also enjoy fly-camping under the stars or embark on helicopter excursions to explore Kenya's remote northern territories. The lodge's serene infinity pools and spa facilities provide a peaceful retreat for relaxation. Committed to sustainability, Sasaab is recognized as a Global Ecosphere Retreat®, balancing conservation, community, culture, and commerce in its operations, ensuring a meaningful safari experience.
