About Ngulia Safari Lodge

Historic lodge on the Ndawe escarpment with panoramic views of Tsavo's plains and Kilimanjaro.

Ngulia Safari Lodge is one of Kenya's most established safari properties, officially opened on May 22, 1969. Owned and managed by Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels, the lodge sits on the edge of the Ndawe escarpment within Tsavo West National Park, offering a vast panorama of the park's sweeping plains and volcanic landscape. The lodge features 52 park-facing rooms in a modern style, with interconnecting options, en-suite bathrooms, a lounge area, working station, and private balconies. Rooms are equipped with electrical fans, Wi-Fi, complimentary mineral water, and toiletries. Dining takes place in the main restaurant, built in an open-air style with views of the floodlit waterhole. All meals are served buffet style. Optional bush breakfasts, sundowner dinners, and picnic lunch boxes can be arranged. The Leopard View Bar opens in the evenings, where guests can watch elephants and buffalo visiting the waterhole. Ngulia is internationally renowned among birdwatchers for its annual bird ringing program, which takes place during the migration season. Millions of migratory birds pass through the area, making it one of the most important bird study sites in Africa. The serenity of the lodge and its clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro make it a rewarding destination for both wildlife enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat in the African bush.
